How to Use a Bicycle in Seoul :: Seoul Public Bike Ttareungi

  'Seoul Bike Ttareungi' is a public bicycle rental system that anyone can use easily and conveniently anytime, anywhere in Seoul.

  Currently, there are 2,000 public bicycles in 150 rental stations, centering on the five major bases in Seoul (Yeouido, Sangam, Shinchon, Namdaemun, Dongdaemun, and Seongsu), and the rental stations are expected to be expanded for the convenience of citizens in the future. 

  Ttareungi is a convenient means of transportation for citizens, effectively complementing the streets that were a bit far from walking and obscure to use public transportation.


How to use Seoul Bike Ttareungi - LCD Type

1. Go to the 'Seoul Bike Ttareungi' website (https://www.bikeseoul.com).

2. Select the language from the menu. Seoul Ttareungi website supports English, Chinese, and Japanese in addition to Korean.

3. Click 'Sign Up' at the top right of the homepage.

4. Generate the ID and password, and a rental code that is a 4-digit password required for renting bicycles.

5. In the next step, enter the 16 digits of your T-Money* or M-Pass* card number to complete the registration process.

6. Click 'Buy Ticket' on the homepage menu.

7. Choose either a one-day pass or a commuter pass (7-day pass).

8. Pay the pass with a card that can be paid overseas.

9. At the Ttareungi rental station where you want to borrow a bicycle, tag the T-Money or M-Pass card registered on the website, enter the rental code, and rent.

*T-Money: A card that allows you to settle transportation fare when using buses and subways in Korea. You must purchase a nationwide compatible type A released after 2015 to use Ttareungi, so be sure to check it before purchasing.

*M-Pass: Public transport commuter pass for foreigners

10. Enter a rental password on LCD of Ttareungi.

11. Enter the last 4 digits of the 8-digit rental number.


How to use Seoul Bike Ttareungi - QR Code Type



Notice

· 'Seoul Bike Ttareungi' can be used by anyone over the age of 15 and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

· One-day pass is 1,000 won, 7-day pass is 3,000 won. It can be used for 24 hours after payment of the one-day pass, but the default rental time is set to 1 hour, so an additional charge of 1,000 won per 30 minutes will be charged if it exceeds 1 hour. If you want to use it for 24 hours without additional charge, you must return it within 1 hour and repeat the rental.

· For foreigners, a deposit is required. The deposit is 50,000 won for one rental, and the deposit can be returned within 24 hours after returning it after use. However, depending on the credit card company, the time required for deposit may vary. If you do not rent Ttareungi within 24 hours after payment of the daily pass, it will be automatically cancelled.
