3 Hidden Attractions in Seoul

  Tourist attractions in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, are well known to foreigners. However, there are some hidden spots that even Koreans don't know about. If you're looking for a new place that is distinctive, it's a good place to visit.


1. Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail (or Closed Railroads in Gongneung-dong)

  In the past, there was a Hwarangdae train station of Gyeongchun Line in Gongneung-dong, and the station was closed and now reborn as a forest trail for hiking. Grass and flowers are planted around the railroad tracks where no trains run. It will be the best place to leave beautiful photos along the railroads. Also, you can ride a rail bike along the railroads and you can have fun at the Gongneung-dong traditional market.

How to go: Hwarangdae subway station Exit 2 → Get on bus no. 1155 or 76. → Get off at Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail stop


2. Seongsu-dong Cafe Streets

  As many old factories and warehouses in Seongsu-dong were converted into cafes, Seongsu-dong began to form cafe streets. Most cafes looks like an old factory or warehouse, and the old concrete structure and steel frame are preserved inside, giving a vintage feel. In addition, as exhibitions and cultural events are often held, they were reborn as a space where you can enjoy culture with drinks and desserts.

3. Gwangjin Bridge Riverview 8th Avenue



  Gwangjin Bridge Riverview 8th Avenue is the lower observation deck under the bridge. There are only three observation decks under the bridge in the world including Gwangjin Bridge Riverview 8th Avenue. You can enjoy not only the night view of the Han River from the observation deck, but you can also enjoy occasional performances and exhibitions there. It is designed to be accessible on foot, so you can stop by while riding a bicycle along the Han River.

How to go: Gwangnaru subway station Exit 2 → Cross the pedestrian crossing and walk 300m to Gwangjin Youth Training Center on the left and walk about 100m to the right.
When to visit: April~October 10:00~22:00 pm (weekdays) | 2nd, 4th Monday - day off
