How to Make "Dalgona," a Korean Sugar Candy

"Dalgona" is a Korean Sugar Candy, which appeared in the Netflix Drama, "The Squid Game." You can see someone making "Dalgona" on the streets of Insadong in Korea. Here is a recipe for making "Dalgona." Try making it!

Preparations: sugar, baking soda, a ladle, a stick, paper foil

1. Put paper foil on the tray. You can sprinkle sugar widely instead of foil.

2. Add 2 spoons of sugar to the ladle and dissolve until it is transparent. The sugar might burn, so melt it over low heat.

3. When sugar melts and becomes transparent, leave the ladle away from the heat for a while.

4. Add a pinch of baking soda. (0.1 teaspoons) Stir until it turns ocher color (with the heat removed). It's going to swell up little by little. If it does not swell, place it on the fire for a few seconds and mix it again.

5. Turn off the heat, spill the dalgona on the paper foil, and cool it down for a while.

6. Place the shape cutter on top of the flattened dalgona and press it again. If you don't want to take a picture of the shape, you can harden it and eat it

7. Done! Use a toothpick to break it into pieces.

8. It's good to break it without taking a shape and make dalgona.
